Johann Andreas Bach [44] (Musician)

Born: September 7, 1713 - Ohrdruf, Thuringia, Germany
Died: October 25, 1779 - Ohrdruf, Thuringia, Germany

Johann Andreas Bach [44] was son of Johann Christoph Bach [22]. In 1733 he was an oboist in the military band in Gotha. From 1738 he was organist of the Trinity Church in Ohrdruf and from 1743 of St Michael's in the same town. He owned the so-called Johann Andreas Bach Buch (D-LEm, Sammlung Becker 111.8.4), one of the principal sources of the early keyboard works of J.S. Bach [24].
